Soil is typically a deep layer of ironstone gravelly loam over red and yellow friable clay with slight westerly aspects at elevations of 220 to 250m above sea level.
The 2016 vintage begun with a hot Spring, likely due to a strong El Niño influence, with October, November and December considerably warmer than the previous season. The repercussions were good with a nice even flowering, providing consistency of fruit through the blocks.
