The name Maris Sol (Coastal Sun) comes from the views that influence our wines - an outlook that stretches across the vineyard and over the coast. Our grapes spend their days drenched in sun, followed by cool crisp nights, the optimum environment for them to thrive.

Artist Sara Winfield
Commissioned artist Sara Winfield grew up on a farm in the bush, with a brush, a big imagination and a deep love for our Australian outback.

Winemakers are always fidgeting around in the cellar with small and often quite unique batches of wines, mostly as trials to see what is possible in our portfolio wines.

Commonly, the winemaker will tuck them into the back of the winery with no one awares! The Maris Sol label is a format in which we can bottle very small parcels that have to fit the criteria of being both unique and interesting. The more obscure….the better!

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Enchanting style of stone fruit, wild fig and lemon citrus. An extended pe-riod on lees has added layers of complexity to the palate. Autolysis gives the wine texture and creaminess whilst retaining a vibrant and elegant feel with long satiating acidity.
Vineyard Notes
Estate grown from the spectacular hillside vineyard in the Ferguson Valley of the Geographe wine region, fruit is sourced from our plantings of Chardonnay comprising of 100% Gin Gin Clone. Soil is typically a deep layer of ironstone gravelly loam over red and yellow friable clay with slight westerly aspects at elevations of 220 to 250m above sea level.
Production Notes
100% barrel fermented and matured in French oak for 9 months.
