Description
Rich, dense, and dark crimson colour. Youthful yet complex, pure blueberry and dark red plum laced with star anise and black pepper. Vanilla and cocoa weave through a palate of delicious blackberry and licorice, layered and long with a chalky mineral-like tannin texture.

The Winter of 2021 can only be described as wet. Record rainfall figures were recorded across the south west of Western Australia, and in some instances, healthy clover still grew in the vine mid rows into December! Then come Christmas week 2021, the heat came, followed by further hot periods in mid-January and early March, with 40 degrees Celsius breached in early February. In a fortune of events, the canopy that grew strongly backed by winter rains went on to protect the fruit in the heat of Summer, with the only casualty being poor yields in some varieties, notably Shiraz and Chardonnay. The region was also blessed by a strong Marri flowering, meaning birds were a non-issue for the season.
