The Black Dog Shiraz is an immersion into the full scope of the vinyard, fastidious handling producing a wine of intense varietal character.
Description
Dark red in colour with crimson edges.
Complexity abound, lifted dark plum nestled amongst earthy forest undergrowth, star anise, liquorice and black pepper.
Juicy plummy fruit, lively and fresh, with loads of tertiary flavours, truffle, vanilla and cocoa, balanced by savoury and leather notes, completed by a long fruit-driven finish and rolling tannins.
Estate grown fruit, handled fastidiously, matured painstakingly.
Crushed cool to static fermenters for eight days, peak temp 28 degrees Celsius. 100% barrel matured in new (40%) and older French hogsheads.
